JAMMU, Mar 22: On the eve of the Shaheedi Divas of Bhagat Singh, Rajguru and Sukhdev, BJP organized a programme “Ek Shaam Shahidon Ke Naaam” to remember the supreme sacrifices of these three great patriots. Party leaders laid wreaths at the portraits of these martyrs and paid their rich tributes to them. Young children from Saraswati Sangeet Kala Mandir recited patriotic songs in memory of these martyrs.
BJP State president Sat Sharma, while remembering these martyrs, said that the pain and love for the motherland made these three young patriots to leave the luxuries of life and jump into freedom struggle. They preferred to get hanged at the age when it was the time for them to be groomed and begin new lives. They sacrificed themselves so that the future generations live in an independent country.
BJP Legislative Party leader, Dr. Nirmal Singh, while terming the team of Bhagat Singh, Rajguru and Sukhdev as inspiring source for youth in those days, said that the Communists are misleading the country by calling that they belonged to their ideology, which is totally false as Communists are classless people and these martyrs were from the society, which treat the motherland as supreme.
Former State president and MLC, Ashok Khajuria said that the prevailing atmosphere in the country is insulting the sacrifices of these martyrs and attempts are made to weaken the nationalist ideology at the behest of those who cannot differentiate between the nationalism and anti-nationalism. He said that the need of the day is to expose all such elements and defeat their nefarious designs.
BJP State general secretary Pawan Khajuria conducted the proceedings.
