JAMMU, Mar 24: Prime Minister, Narendra Modi held his monthly video conference under his Pro-active Governance and Timely Implementation (PRAGATI) initiative, with Union Secretaries of various Ministries and Chief Secretaries of States.
Chief Secretary, B R Sharma also participated in the video conference.
Prime Minister reviewed the performance of States with respect to Mission Mode Project (MMP) of Land Records and e-District under the Digital India Programme.
Prime Minister asked States to expedite the completion of computerization of land records and property/land registration and its integration. He also stressed on capacity building at the field level and linking land record with Aadhaar.
States were also asked to cover all the districts under e-District MMP and start maximum e-services.
The e-District MMP aims to provide e-governance services at the district level online to all citizens. It covers services related to certificates, licences, ration cards, social welfare schemes, utility/tax payment etc.
Prime Minister also reviewed the implementation of National Social Assistance Programme (NSAP)-Widow Pension. The Scheme benefits old aged, widows, disabled persons and bereaved families on death of primary bread winner belonging to BPL households.
Prime Minister urged States to complete digitization of beneficiaries and Aadhaar seeding so that payment under NSAP is directly made to the beneficiary bank account. “States should also provide SMS facility to the beneficiary about credit of pension in their bank account”, Prime Minister said.
Prime Minister also reviewed the progress by States with regard to initiatives taken under the ‘ease of doing business’ aimed to attract investment for expanding employment opportunities and for boosting economic growth in the country.
States will be ranked on the basis of the implementation of 340 Action Points brought out by the Department of Industrial Policy and Promotion (DIPP) along with a business reform action plan to guide and support states in the implementation of various reforms. These reforms focus on areas of smooth start of business, unified online application, faster disposal of various clearances/approvals/NoCs, easier property/land registration and construction permits etc.
