JAMMU, Mar 26: Accusing the BJP for aligning with the PDP once again to share the cradle of power, NPP chairman Harsh Dev Singh lambasted the Saffron party for ruthlessly crushing the aspirations of the people by totally succumbing to the dictates of Mehbooba Mufti.
Launching a scathing attack on the BJP led NDA Government for taking hasty strides to clear the decks for the Govt formation in J&K, Harsh Dev said that the BJP which was exasperated by the political logjam in the State seemed to have compromised the national and regional interests to appease the PDP and empower Kashmir centric “Agenda of Alliance”. He said that the wavering drama by both BJP and PDP over the Govt formation mocked the democracy and the sanctity of electoral politics.
He questioned the BJP that what actually prompted both the diametrically opposite parties to cobble up once again after holding the constitution as hostage for over two and a half months and divesting the people of its popular Government. Expressing his reservations on the morality of the BJP, Mr Singh casted doubts that it had given unwarranted concessions to Mehbooba Mufti to end the political impasse. He said that GoI hobnobbing with the supporters of Afzal Guru in Kashmir and issuing directives to Army for land vacation from certain zones clearly corroborate the truth that BJP was inclined to talk with the separatists and withdraw AFSPA in a phased manner to satiate her demands for CBMs.
Lampooning tall pronouncements of the BJP leaders ahead of Lok Sabha and Assembly elections turning into mere hollow rhetoric, Mr Singh cautioned the BJP that before forming the coalition Government with the PDP, it must assert to incorporate all the Jammu centric issues in the Agenda of Alliance. He said that abrogation of Article 370, delimitation of Assembly constituencies to end the regional bias, AIIMS and Smart City for Jammu were long cherished dreams of the people of Jammu region and any further deviation from these would not only mean `Harakiri’ by the BJP but an act of subterfuge which shall be strongly opposed and agitated by the Panthers Party.
