JAMMU, Mar 27: A Raising day Celebration Mela was held today at Akhnoor under the aegis of Crossed Swords Division, which witnessed enthusiastic participation by more than 2000 troops, families and ex-servicemen.
Crossed Swords Division is celebrating its 51st year of Raising. The mela was primarily conducted for soldiers and their families. The mega event had fun filled rides for children, a Dog show and various games and food stalls.
The mela was inaugurated by the General Officer Commanding Crossed Swords Division and Mrs Naveeta K Singh, Chairperson FWO. The General Officer during the inauguration lauded the role played by the troops of the Division in maintaining sanctity of the Line of Control and motivated them to keep giving their best for the nation.
