35 bovines rescued, two smugglers arrested

UDHAMPUR, Mar 27: Tikri police today foiled two attempts of bovine smuggling and rescued 35 animals besides arresting two smugglers.
According to the police reports, acting on reliable information, a police party of police post Tikri laid a surprise naka on the National Highway and intercepted one Truck bearing registration number PB06B-6434, which was on way towards Kashmir.
During thorough search, the Truck was found loaded with 15 bovine animals. Police rescued these animals and seized the truck besides arresting the smuggler, namely (Driver) Jeevan Masi of Gurdaspur Punjab and Nur Alam of Talwara Reasi.
Meanwhile, police party of police post Tikri intercepted one more Truck bearing registration number JK02AF-1687 which was on his way towards Kashmir.
During the thorough search, the vehicle was found loaded with 20 bovine animals, which were rescued. The vehicle was seized while the driver and his accomplices managed to escape.
In both case, the Tikri police has registered cases under Section 188/RPC 3 PCA Act and further investigations are going on.
