JAMMU, Mar 28: Usha Vohra, First Lady, inaugurated a 4 day “Artists Under The Great Sky” International Art Exhibition organized by University of Jammu, Centre for Studies in Museology (CSM) and School of Visual and Performing Art, Design and Architecture (SVAPADA) at Rinchen Bzangpo Art Gallery in General Zorawar Singh Auditorium here today.
Artists from Australia, India, Poland, Pakistan and Lithuania displayed their art works made in wood, oil on canvas, acrylic on canvas, ink on paper, collagraph, photographs, oil on board and mix media.
Mrs. Vohra viewed all the exhibits and interacted with the artists. She lauded the exhibits for their themes, finesse and artistic ingenuity and the creative expression in different mediums. She observed that Art helps us in rising above our normal routine lives and gives wings to our expressions, making existence more interesting, enjoyable, aesthetic and meaningful.
Mrs. Vohra also released the Exhibition’s catalogue on the occasion.
Among those present were Prof. R.D Shrama,Vice- Chancellor, University of Jammu, Prof. Poonam Choudhary, Director CSM and SVAPADA and a fair number of artists and prominent citizens.
