ICccR & HRM JU organises ‘Investor Awareness Prog’

JAMMU, Mar 29: International Centre for Cross Cultural Research and Human Resource Management (ICccR & HRM), University of Jammu organised “Investor Awareness Programme” for MBA: International Business (MBA-IB) students in association with Centre for Investment Education and Learning (CIEL).
Akhil Chopra, Associate Trainer, Centre for Investment Education and Learning (CIEL) was the resource person for the session, along with Pankaj Sodi, Relationship Manager, ICICI Prudential Mutual Fund.
The main objective of the programme was to provide a learning forum for students by making them aware about the concepts of savings and investment for generating long term dividends.
Various aspects of stock market including investment strategies, market trends and the structure of the growth trend were shared during the session.
The experts also discussed the challenges posed by inflation and educated the students about how to invest systematically with a diverse portfolio, in order to create wealth and achieve sustained benefits.
It is pertinent to mention here that Securities and Exchange Board of India (SEBI), which is a statutory authority in the Indian capital markets has mandated such programmes to create awareness and “Financial Literacy” among students.
Earlier, Prof Neelu Rohmetra, Director, ICccR & HRM also spoke on the occasion and narrated that exercise of this nature has primarily been undertaken to acquaint the students about capital markets and financial sector in the economy. “It is a part of competency building initiatives for students so as to enhance their employability skills”, she said.
The session was coordinated by Dr Amrinder Singh, Dr Shafqat Ajaz and Dr Ridhi Sharma.
