School found closed, 7 suspended

RAMBAN, Mar 29: Deputy Commissioner (DC), Bashir Ahmed Dar during his surprise visit found Government High School Mangith closed and placed whole staff comprising six teachers and one Class IV employee under suspension for remaining unauthorizedly absent.
The school had been functioning with six teachers namely Mohd Akhter (Incharge), Reyaz Ahmed, Mohd Iqbal, Sultan Akhter, Bilal Hussain, Abdul Rouf Mir and a Class IV employee Zeba Begum.
DC has also directed the Chief Education Officer (CEO), Mohammad Sharief to initiate enquiry into the matter followed by reply within 10 days for taking further stringent action against the staff.
The action was initiated after local people of village Mangith complained about the non-functioning of school and unauthorized absence of the all teachers from their regular duties thereby putting the career of students at stake.
