JAMMU, Mar 30: A legal awareness camp on the topic ‘Availability of Different Welfare and Social Security Schemes’ was organized today at the office of Block Development Officer, Block Khour, while at Lamdon Model Higher Secondary School in Leh, a legal awareness camp cum debate competition was organized on the theme ‘Child Rights’.
At BDO office in Block Khour, the camp was organized on the direction of chairman, District Legal Service Authority (DLSA), Principal & Sessions Judge. Adnan Syed, secretary, DLSA (Sub Registrar), Jammu, Jeewan Kumar Sharma, chairman, TLSC (Munsiff), Akhnoor and Rakesh Sharma, SDM Akhnoor, were present on the occasion.
While speaking on the occasion, Syed apprised the public about different welfare and social security schemes and duties enshrined in the law such as benefits of adjudicatory, methods of dispute resolutions, lok adalats, etc.
At Lamdon Model Higher Secondary in Leh, the camp-cum-debate competition was organized by the DLSA Leh under the chairmanship of Principal District & Session Judge, Leh, Rajinder Sapru.
The camp was attended by Sub-Judge Leh, Spalzes Angmo, president, Bar Association, Advocate Gonbo Stobgail, Lawyers, Senior Prosecuting Officer, Nawang Nurboo, Principal, teachers and students of Lamdon Model Higher Secondary School.
On the occasion, chairman, DLSA, Leh spoke on the provisions of ‘Child Rights’ and the role of Legal Service Authority for making children aware about their rights.
A total of 10 students from Lamdon School participated in the debate and expressed their views about the child rights and the problems being faced by the children. Certificates and prizes were distributed among the winners and participants.
