NAAC team visits Gandhi Memorial College

JAMMU, Mar 31: Three day visit of National Assessment & Accreditation Council (NAAC) Peer Team concluded here, today at Gandhi Memorial College of Education, Raipur Bantalab, Jammu with handing over of exit report to the Principal of the College.
On its second cycle of Accreditation, NAAC Peer team comprising of Chairman Prof.  Rameshchandra .G.Kothari (Ex Vice Chancellor M.S. University, Baroda), Prof K. Yashodhara (Dean Education, University of Mysore) as Member Coordinator & Dr Louis Vernal (Ex Dean Education University of Goa & Member NCTE) as Member arrived here on  March 28 for an on the spot assessment & revalidation of academic & infrastructural facilities in the GMCEJ.
The team on the first day visited all facilities in the College and interacted with the Principal, IQAC Steering Committee members, staff, alumni and parents. Later during the day a scintillating cultural programme was presented in their honour by the students of the college. The visiting team held an interaction with the Executive body members of the Hindu Education Society Kashmir (HESK).
The members who participated included B.L.Razdan president , A.K.Raina general secretary, Member Finance, Dr Satesh Bhan, V.K.Raina ,  S.K.Raina & Dr R.L.Dhar. The second day of visit included inspection of  teaching schools, where pupil teachers of the institution demonstrated their teaching skills as a part of their practical curriculum.
The team also visited Nardhani village adopted by the GMCEJ for extension activities and were highly impressed by the efforts made by the institution in providing skills and awareness programmes to the residents of the area. Later during the day NAAC Peer Team thoroughly checked all the documents and records of the institution and also interacted with the Non Teaching Staff of the College. On the third and final day, the visiting   team prepared a report after ensuring that all the requisites of the NAAC inspection were covered and handed over the final report to the Principal of College in the Exit meet attended by staff, students & management members.
Prof Satish Talashi presented the vote of thanks. The 2nd cycle of  NAAC assessment process was undertaken under the direct supervision & guidance of Dr Satesh Bhan, Member Executive body HESK/Director Campus.
