Gujjars meet BJP leader, take up demands

JAMMU, Mar 31: Gujjars of J&K and Rajasthan led by Akhil Bhartiya Gujjar Mahasabha (ABGM) general secretary, Anaam Hafeez Choudhary, today met former Union Minister and senior BJP leader, Ram Veer Singh Vidhoori.
The delegation demanded setting up of Tribal University in J&K State, special recruitment drive for Gujjars in security forces, Gujjar Regiment in Indian Army, rehabilitation of nomadic Gujjars, inclusion of Gojri language in 8th Schedule of Indian constitution, political reservation for Gujjars, opening of dairy farms, implementation of central schemes regarding Gujjars, etc.
Vidhoori assured the delegation to resolve the issues and problems faced by Gujjars of J&K State soon. He further said that he will meet Prime Minister and discuss these issues and added that NDA Government has taken steps for the development of Gujjars and Bakerwals of J&K State.
The delegation comprised of Ram Gopal Tanwar, Jagdish Ambawta, Sunil Ambawta, Dharmender Bhagat, Mahesh Awana and others.
