Driver arrested for smuggling bovines

UDHAMPUR, Mar 31: Chenani police arrested a driver for smuggling bovine animals to Valley.
As per police sources, on specific information, a team from Chenani police station established a naka and signaled a Mahindra vehicle bearing registration number JK02B-1486 to stop for checking.
Sensing trouble, driver accelerated the vehicle and tried to escape from the naka, but the active cops chased and intercepted the vehicle.
During checking, police rescued 4 bovine animals and arrested the driver, who has been identified as Saraj Din, son of Abdul Ghani, a resident of RS Pura, Jammu.
A case under FIR Number 31/16 under Section 188 RPC and 3 PCA Act has been registered at police station Chenani against the accused and investigation started.
Police team led by SHO Chenani police station Inspector Mahesh Sharma made the arrest under the supervision of SDPO Chenani Vinod Sharma, Additional SP Udhampur Mohan Lal Kaith and SSP Udhampur Suleman Choudhary.
