Pending shopkeepers’ plea to Relief authorities

JAMMU, Mar 31: Some pending shopkeepers whose names didn’t figure in the list issued by the Relief Organization recently have demanded that the same be cancelled and some proper and fool proof mechanism be devised for making allotments to the pending shopkeepers which will be acceptable to every body.
In a statement issued here today the pending shopkeepers said that some of them have already deposited CDRs for the allotment of shops in the year March 2011 with the hope that they will be allotted the shops in the newly constructed complex. But to their surprise the names of these shopkeepers who were also running their small business units in erstwhile camps were missing in the list.
These shopkeepers said that they have no source of income and they were dependent on the small business units run in the erstwhile camps. They expressed the hope that the Relief Commissioner will reconsider their demand and make allotments on the basis of ground realities.
