Crossed Swords Division celebrates Raising Day

JAMMU, Mar 31:   Crossed Swords Division at Akhnoor  organised lively Tarnadoes motor-cycle, dog display and band show today as a part of  its Raising Day celebrations.
In its pre-Raising Day function, in run-up to the 51st Raising Day tomorrow (April I), the unit organised dog and band show besides Tornadoes motor-cycle skills show this evening.
‘Tornadoes’ the motorcycle display team of Army Service Corps, raised in 1982 holds numerous world records and has mention in the Gunnies and Limca books of World Records. The team while exhibiting extraordinary skill, courage, endurance and mental strength, jumped through various walls and fire based obstacles.
The dog show demonstrated how “man’s best friend” marches step-by-step with our soldiers in all operations in varied terrain. The show included skills of trained tracker dogs, guard dogs and explosive detector dogs, who besides crossing various obstacles, detecting explosives and attacking undesirable personnel, showcased their skills required for multifarious other tasks. Army band show was also organised, wherein, the Army band played various patriotic and nationalistic tunes which thrilled the crowd.
The Crossed Swords Division is conducting these pre-Raising Day events to commemorate its 51 years of association with the locals of Akhnoor area.
