UDHAMPUR, Mar 31: Chenani police arrested a snatcher and recovered stolen mobile phone and cash.
As per police sources, a lady namely Jyoti Devi, wife of Sat Paul of Ward Number 4 Chenani lodged a complaint with police station Chenani stating that a person snatched her mobile worth Rs 7,000 and Rs 2,000 cash when she was on her way to market.
Acting over the complaint, a case under relevant Sections was registered at Chenani police station and manhunt was launched to nab the accused.
On specific inputs, police arrested the snatcher, who has been identified as Wali Deen, son of Jogi, a resident of Uttar Pradesh.
Further investigation into the case is going on.
Police team led by SHO Chenani police station Inspector Mahesh Sharma made the arrest under the supervision of SDPO Chenani Vinod Sharma, Additional SP Udhampur Mohan Lal Kaith and SSP Udhampur Suleman Choudhary.
