Motorcyclist crushed to death

UDHAMPUR, Apr 1: A young motorcyclists was crushed to death and his pillion rider sustained critical injuries when their bike was hit by a truck at Ramnagar while a Police Inspector along with his wife and four daughters among six persons were wounded after a Qualis vehicle, they were traveling in,  rolled down in deep gorge near Kha Morh, Samroli, here today.
Reports said that a bike  JK0BH-3412, collided with a truck JK14-9631 near Ramnagar Police Station resulting into on the spot death of motorcyclist  Roshan Lal, son of Madan Lal and critical injuries to pillion rider Amit Kumar, son of Raj Kumar. The deceased was a student of class 12th and the injured of  class 11th in Ramnagar Higher Secondary School. The duo was resident of Koghar Marh, Ramnagar.
The accident apparently took place because of  digging work on the road for laying of cable, due to which the  stretch had become narrow.
The injured was rushed to Sub-District Hospital Ramnagar and then to the district Hospital Udhampur where doctors further referred him to GMC Hospital Jammu in view of his critical condition.
The truck driver fled from the spot leaving his vehicle, which was later seized by Police besides registering a case in this connection.
Meanwhile, in another  road accident,  a Qualis car bearing registration number PB08-7205 and  on  way from Doda to Jammu, rolled down in deep gorge at Kha Morh Samroli.
Police rushed to  the spot and took the injured persons to District Hospital Udhampur where doctors referred them to GMC Hospital Jammu.
The injured were  identified as Police Inspector Farooq Ahmad, posted at Security Jammu,  Farooq Ahmed (43) son of Qadir of Bhalessa Doda, his wife Jamina (37) and their  four daughters,  7 year old Nazia, 4 year old Kafaitullah, 13 year old Sajia, 11 year old Insba and one Jamina (39) wife of Javed of Bhathindi Jammu.
