BJP, PDP should come clear on wasting 3 months: Vakil

Excelsior Correspondent
JAMMU, Apr 1:  Describing the revival of BJP-PDP alliance and steps towards putting in place a new Government as `better late then never’ situation, former Minister Abdul Gani Vakil has said that it is imperative upon both the parties before taking over the reigns, to come clear on wasting nearly three months time in Government formation as the people had not voted for `cobbling up or breaking up’ but for good governance.
In a press statement here today, Mr Vakil said that it will be a historic moment for the J&K State when first female Chief Minister will be administered oath but the said moment can’t relegate or divert the attention of the people of the State from the meet of PDP chief with Prime Minister of India and what transpired between them. He said that it is imperative upon Mehbooba Mufti  and her party colleagues to justify avoidable delay in Government formation and the nature of assurances obtained from Prime Minister of India because political uncertainty has adversely affected the routine administrative affairs in the state.
He said that matters of public importance have been kept on hold or put to back burner on the pretext of formation of a new Government and due to unaccountable administrative system common man, who voted despite all odds and ignored threat to life, became victim of undemocratic governance mechanism.
Mr Vakil extending best wishes to designate Chief Minister appealed her to work for weeding out corruption, corrupt practices, red-tapism and conventional modes of delayed governance from the system and work for better and bright future of the Jammu and Kashmir. Senior leader also impressed upon the prospective Chief Minister to bring to fore clear and untainted persons in the Cabinet and exercise great carefulness in choosing and selecting Ministers to avoid wrath of people who have pinned high hopes with the forthcoming dispensation.
