AKHNOOR, Apr 1: Crossed Swords Division of Army’s Northern Command organized a wreath laying ceremony and special Sainik Sammelan at Akhnoor Garrison on the occasion of its 51st Raising Day here today.
A solemn ceremony was held to commemorate this occasion and to pay homage to the gallant martyrs of the Division. Wreaths were laid at the war memorial (Warriors’ Grove) by General Officer Commanding, Crossed Swords Division along with other officers.
‘Tornadoes’- a motorcycle display team of Army Service Corps, raised in 1982 exhibited extraordinary skill, courage, endurance and mental strength, jumped through various walls, fire based obstacles and enthralled the audience.
The Division organized a number of events to reminisce its glorious history and traditions. General Officer in his message to the troops exhorted all ranks to rededicate themselves to the service of the nation.
