KATRA, Apr 1: Katra Police has arrested a bootlegger and seized 38 pouches of illicit liquor from his possession.
A Police team, headed by SHO Katra, Inspector Sanjeev Sharma, under the supervision of SDPO Dr Ashok Sharma, laid a special naka at Varun Chowk Katra and intercepted the accused, identified as Kali Dass of kundrorian in Katra.
38 Poly pouches, measuring 250/250 ml each of J&K Excise liquor, were recovered from possession of the accused, who was smuggling the same to Katra for its illegal sale in the holy town.
In this connection, a case FIR No 50/2016 U/S 48-A Act, 188/RPC has been registered at Police Station Katra and investigation of the case was in progress.
