UDHAMPUR, Apr 2: A two-week refresher course for Gazetted Officers (GOs) which commenced on March 22 here at Sher-i-Kashmir (SK) Police Academy concluded today.
The course was aimed at acquainting the 35 promoted Deputy SPs of J&K Police with their new role and responsibility and to aware and sensitize them with challenges faced by officers at the cutting edge level.
The course module was designed under the supervision of Director, Sher-e-Kashmir Police Academy, Udhampur, Rajesh Kumar, IGP.
The inaugural address was delivered by Shiv Kumar Sharma, Assistant Director, Administration. During the course, eminent speakers including Mubasir Latifi, SSP Crime Jammu, Mohd Yaseen Kitchloo, SSP Vigilance, Randheer Singh SP AD (outdoor), Rakesh Hangloo, scientific officer, Sheikh Shakeel, Senior Advocate, Joginder Singh, Deputy SP, Kamal Sharma, CPO, interacted with participating police officers.
They spoke on their assigned topics like role of forensic science, departmental enquires, human rights, working of establishment in police, leadership and management, media management, disaster management, basics of cyber security, tools to curb the corruption, responsibility of police in anti Militancy operations, cyber crime and use and procedure of scientific methods like DNA Profile, Narco Analysis test etc.
Vidya Sagar, retired Accounts officer, Baldev Singh Manhas, retired Director Prosecution, Anil Verma, Chartered Accountant, Prof Vishwa Raksha, Vijay Kant Desai Singh, Axis MD, Prof Mahesh Koul, Mahadeep Singh Jamwal, SP (retired), Dr Ruchi Gupta, Assistant Prof, Rural Development, IMPA, Pawan Parihar, Inspector, SS Mankotia, SP (retired) and Sparsh Sharma, also spoke on the occasion.
The course ended with interactive session on Cyber crime followed by visuals on the subject.
