Body of missing minor fished out from Anantnag stream

Srinagar, Apr 2: Body of a four-year old boy who had gone missing 10 days ago was today fished out from a stream in south Kashmir’s Anantnag district.
A police official said the boy, Ayan Shah, who had gone missing from Pehru village of the district, was fished from a stream near Saint Lukes Convent School this afternoon.
The family of the deceased had announced a cash reward of Rs. 1 lakh for anyone who provides any information about their son. Police had also announced reward for the informer.
The minor boy had disappeared mysteriously on March 22 when he was playing outside the house of his relatives in the Pehru village. His disappearance had triggered anger and protests by his family and locals of the district. Even as police launched manhunt to track down the boy but had found no clue till this date.
As soon as body of the boy was retrieved, a pale of gloom descended in the area with his family and relatives mourning his tragic death. Police said it appear the boy had drowned but they are investigating the matter. The body of the boy was handed over to his relatives after legal formalities including autopsy.
