KATRA, Apr 2: Police today arrested a man and recovered 36 poly pouches of illicit liquor from his possession.
As per the reports, acting on a specific input, a police team from police station Katra laid a special naka at Matyal Katra near Petrol Pump and during checking/frisking, succeeded in recovery of 36 poly pouches measuring 250/250 ml each of J&K excise liquor from the possession of one Shabir Ahmed son of Rashid, a resident of Roun Domail, tehsil and district Udhampur.
The arrest and recovery was made by a police team headed by Inspector Sanjeev Sharma, SHO, police station Katra under the supervision of Dr Ashok Sharma, SDPO Katra, Sumir Kotwal, Additional SP Katra and overall supervision of Sujit Kumar, SSP Reasi.
In this connection, a case FIR No 51/2016 under Section 48-A Act, 188/RPC stands registered at police station Katra and investigation of the case is in progress.
