Two killed, seven injured in separate road mishaps

JAMMU, Apr 3: Two persons were killed while seven others were injured in three separate road mishaps, two at Qasim Nagar and Maheshpura in city outskirts and other at Mawa Karora in Akhnoor tehsil of the district.
According to a police spokesman, a rashly driven i20 car bearing registration number JK02BJ-0005 this afternoon hit an Alto car bearing registration number JK02AE-4974, driven by one Sham Lal, son of Manga Ram, a resident of Badgal Kalan (Akhnoor), at Mawa Karora (Karangi), resulting into on the spot death of Sham Lal and injuries to six occupants of both the vehicles.
The two injured identified as Sunita Sharma wife of Sham Lal and her son, Shubhum, were shifted to Sub District Hospital (SDH), Akhnoor and one of the injured whose identity was yet to be ascertained, was shifted to MH Akhnoor while three others who received serious injuries were shifted to Government Medical College and Hospital (GMCH), Jammu. The body of the deceased was shifted to mortuary room of SDH Akhnoor.
Those shifted in the GMCH were Kamlo Devi (80) wife of Shattu Ram, a resident of Doori Dageer, Girdhari Lal (65) son of late Pyare Lal and Kanta Devi (55) wife of Girdhari Lal, a resident of Sanjay Nagar.
In this connection a case under Sections 279/337/304A RPC was registered at police station Akhnoor and further investigations were underway.
In Qasim Nagar area of city outskirts, a youth indentified as Sandhu Singh (25) son of Subhash Chander, a resident of ward No 1, Kathua, was seriously injured late last night when a Swift car bearing temporary registration number JMUBG-2724 on which he was traveling rammed into the divider of the road at Qasim Nagar. The injured youth was immediately shifted to GMCH Jammu, where he succumbed to his injuries after some time.
After completing all medico-legal formalities, the body of the deceased was today handed over to his legal heirs for last rites. In this connection, a case under Sections 279/337 RPC was registered at police station Bagh-e-Bahu.
Meanwhile, two cars collided today at Maheshpura Chowk in Bakshi Nagar area, in which a man identified as Anuj Puri (45) son of Ganshyam Puri, a resident of Channi, received injuries. He was shifted to GMCH for treatment. The concerned police had taken cognizance of the matter
