JAMMU Apr 3: Terming the decision of Air India to run the morning flight from Jammu to New Delhi from April 8 a great initiative which will ease the problems of the people traveling to Union Capital, Bharatiya Janata Yuva Morcha (BJYM) leaders said the credit for the same goes to Union Minister of State in PMO with independent Charge of Development of North Eastern States, Dr Jitendra Singh who took personnel interest in making the morning flight possible.
The BJYM leaders including State vice president & DRUCC Member Railway Er. Bharat Sharma, district president Ishant Gupta, State Executive Member Rohit Mahajan & State Spokesperson Neha Mahajan at a press conference here today complimented the Union Minister for his constant efforts as a result of which, beginning from April 8, Air India has agreed to operate a morning flight from Jammu to New Delhi.
They said even though, the proposed flight is initially going to operate only for three days in a week but the BJYM leaders hoped that, with the influence and efforts of Dr Jitendra Singh, in near future, it will be a daily morning flight from Jammu to Delhi.
They also appealed to Dr Jitendra Singh to follow up the issue of a late evening flight from Jammu to Delhi and an evening flight from Delhi to Jammu.
BJYM leaders said it was with the efforts of Dr Jitendra Singh that the approval for the upgradation of radio station at Bhaderwah was accorded by Ministry of I&B, which was a long-pending demand for several years. The Congress leaders from the region did not bother to address it in spite of their clout in New Delhi, they added. They said after taking over as Minister at Delhi in May 2014 Dr Jitendra Singh took keen interest in the development of the State by brining various developmental projects and schemes which included bridge over river Ravi at Kerian Gandyal in Kathua, Dream land Park and Biotech Park in Kathua, toilets for women along International Border, concrete bunkers on IB for people to take refuge during cross border firing, allotment of land for border people in Hiranagar, besides adopting four villages under Prime Minister’s Adarsh Gram Yojna in his Lok Sabha Constituency and many more other projects.
They said it was also with the efforts of Dr Singh that a decision was taken by GoI to set up a radio station in Udhampur which has a demand for several decades.
BJYM leaders recalled that soon after the formation of the Modi Government at the Centre, Dr Jitendra Singh had got the Yuva Vani radio service at Jammu restarted and ever since then, he has, one after the other, successfully taken up various demands and issues related to Jammu.
