JAMMU, Apr 4: The 6th semester students of Computer Science and Engineering at Model Institute of Engineering and Technology (MIET) and the two time defending champions of Tata Crucible Campus Quiz Ankur Mahajan and Sanjay Kumar made it a hat-trick by winning the 2016 edition along with cash prize of Rs 75,000 held at Government College for Women (GCW), Parade.
“Tata Crucible—The Business Quiz” is an initiative launched by Tata Group in 2004 to bring together sharpest young minds in India to take on the heat of the toughest business quiz in India by conducting city and zonal rounds followed by national finals.
The championship which is into its eleventh edition has grown from strength to strength. This year’s edition witnessed participation of more than 115 teams from different colleges of J&K.
MIET dominated the entire event as 3 teams made it to the final round of 10 teams.
The duo of Sanjay and Ankur, both prolific quizzers and enthusiasts has been instrumental in bringing laurels to MIET by winning Tata Crucible Zonal rounds held at Delhi and Inter University quiz title at University of Jammu during 2015, winning total prize money in excess of Rs 3 lakhs along the way. Sanjay and Ankur have also been instrumental in setting up the quiz club at MIET and inculcating the culture of quizzing at MIET.
The team was congratulated by Dr Arun K Gupta, Chairman and Dr Renu Gupta, Director, MIER Group besides Prof Ankur Gupta, Director, MIET and Prof SK Sharma, Director Academics, MIET.
