UDHAMPUR, Apr 5: A major cultural event is being organised by District Administration, Udhampur to showcase the developmental projects and generating stakeholders’ support for Project Rahat aimed at construction of bridges. Arrangements were finalized, in a meeting chaired by DDC for day long events with greater public participation
Bollywood Actor Mukesh Rishi has joined as Brand Ambassador of Project Rahat being implemented in District Udhampur for construction of 114 foot-bridges for remote schools and inaccessible hamlets through convergence of resources and active participation of partner organisations and stakeholders at various levels.
Mukesh Rishi will be in District Udhampur for a series of activities lined up on 11th April including launching of a bridge, inauguration of photo exhibition and a major cultural event with mass participation. A fund raising event will also be organised for District Red Cross Society for augmenting resources of Red Cross aimed at benefitting the patients, accident victims and poor and needy students. Mukesh Rishi is providing free of cost support to Red Cross fund raising and promotion of Project Rahat for generating resources and building community partnership.
A mega cultural event will be organised at Udhampur on April 11 as part of initiation of Phase-III of the project which will enhance the number of bridges to 151 for connecting inaccessible schools and remote hamlets benefitting lakhs of population in district. Fund raising programme for District Red Cross Society is also being championed by actor Mukesh Rishi.
District Development Commissioner, Udhampur, Dr Shahid Iqbal Choudhary, in a meeting of departments finalized the arrangements for the Cultural Show, Photo-Exhibition and launching of a model bridge for Phase-III being dedicated to public by district administration. Apart from various departments, the Government Degree Colleges, Private Colleges and various schools will be actively taking part in seeking support to District Red Cross Society and expanding the partnership base of Project Rahat.
ADC Angrez Singh Rana, CPO Rakesh Jamwal, PO DRDA Dr Jagdish Mehra, Principal GDC, Principal Women College, CEO, CMO, X-En PHE, X-En EM&RE, X-En PWD, Secretary Red Cross, district and sectoral offcers, heads of institutions and representatives of organisations were present in the meeting.
