KATHUA, Apr 8: The 443rd birthday of Goswami Guru Nabha Dass was celebrated with zeal and enthusiasm here today.
The function was organized under the overall guidance of Som Nath, District President, All J&K Mahasha Sadar Sabha in which RL Bharti, Former Member of J&K Public Service Commission was the chief guest whereas political activist SR Majotra was the guest of honour. Rattan Chand Krottra, President, All J&K Mahasha Sadar Sabha presided over the function.
The programme started with hawan yagya and religious procession in which more than five thousand devotees took part. They chanted bhajans and exhibited Jankies depicting life and teachings of Goswami Guru Nabha Dass Maharaj.
The religious procession culminated at temple site near Dr BR Ambedkar bridge.
RL Bharti in his address exhorted the people to follow the path of righteousness shown by Guru Ji and asked them to educate the children so that they can become self reliant and serve the society well.
Som Nath told the gathering that Guru Ji has authored “Bhakatmal Granth” which has described the life and teachings of saints prior to 16th century.
Dhian Chand, Ex-MLA, Chuni Lal, Ex-MLC, Dr Bharat Bhushan, Chief Executive Officer, Lakhanpur Sarthal Development Authority, Dr CR Munday, Retd Deputy Director Ayush, Lok Nath Dogra, District Agriculture Officer, Presidents of Ravi Dass Sabha, Kabir Sabha, Prajapati Sabha and a large number of devotees were present on the occasion.
In the end, Som Nath presented vote of thanks.
