Minor killed, five injured in road mishaps

SRINAGAR, Apr 8: Police today said a minor boy was killed while five others were injured in different road accidents across the Valley.
A police spokesman said an I-10 vehicle hit and seriously injured a 14 year-old boy namely Shakir Ahmad Dar at Dukabal Crossing in Bomie area of Sopore in north Kashmir’s Baramulla district. The injured was shifted to Sub District Hospital Sopore where he succumbed to his injuries.
The spokesman said a scooty bearing registration number JK03A-9479 hit and injured a pedestrian identified as Dawood Khan on National Highway near Court Complex Bijbehara in south Kashmir’s Anantnag district.
The spokesman said a motorcycle bearing registration number JK01A-0995 hit and injured a pedestrian identified as Reyaz Ahmad Depu at Flyover Harnag in Anantnag district. “In the accident the motorcyclist was also injured. Both the injured were shifted to District Hospital Anantnag for treatment. Police have registered cases regarding these accidents,” he said.
The spokesman said an unknown vehicle hit and injured a person namely Mohammad Amin Khan at Nutnoosa in Drugmulla area of Kupwara district. “The injured was shifted to hospital for treatment,” he said, adding that a case has been registered in this regard.
The spokesman said a Maruti car bearing registration number JK09-4566 turned turtle at Dilbagh in Lalpora area of Kupwara district, resulting in injuries to a lady identified as Hajra Begum. “The injured lady was shifted to the hospital for treatment. Police have registered a case in this regard,” he added.
