JAMMU, Apr 8: A huge congregation of devotees today thronged Bhagwaan Gopinathji Ashram, Udaiwala, Bohri, Jammu, where a grand function was held to mark the first Navratra ‘Navreh celebrations’.
The function started at 2 pm with Guru Vandana. As usual, Guru-Geeta recitation competition was also held on the occasion in which 33 competitors participated. The competition was held with a view to promoting Bhagwaan consciousness in the youth.
The competitors were categorized as Sub Junior Group (upto Class 5th), Junior Group (Class 5th to 8th) and Senior (Class 8th to 12th). Satish Saproo, Kamlesh Turfchi and Maharaj Krishan Santoshi acted as judges of the competition.
The participants who bagged 1st, 2nd and 3rd prize in the Sub Junior Group were Keshav Balalia, Chaitanaya Dhar and Vuitasta Bhat, respectively. In Junior Group, Bhavishya Saraf and Hershulla got 1st and 2nd prize while Sohavi Dogra and Bhawna Salgotra shared 3rd prize. Sneha Raina, Kumud Kaul and Tejasvi Zutshi claimed 1st, 2nd and 3rd prize, respectively in Senior Group.
The position holders in each group were awarded with Certificates and trophies. All other participants were given participation certificates.
Prof PN Trisal, who presided over the function, in his address, said that such type of seminar would have moral and educative influence on the youth.
Meanwhile, an 8-day long spiritual programme in connection with the holy Navratras also started at Jammu Ashram. The programme started with Hawan at 8 pm on April 7. The programme will continue to be held at the Ashram from 4.30 am to 7.30 am daily during these auspicious days and the Puran Ahuti will take place on April 15 at 1 pm. Prasad distribution will start at 1.30 pm on the same day.
