NEW DELHI, Apr 9: Freight rates for nine-tonne pay load section improved by Rs 1,000 at the local truck transport market in the national capital today following better cargo movements amid tight position of trucks.
Transporters said pick up in cargo arrivals amid tight position of trucks in the markets, mainly pushed up some of centres freight rates.
Delhi to Ludhiana, Kanpur, Ahmedabad and Surat freight rates rose by Rs 1,000 each to Rs 18,000, Rs 20,000, Rs 21,000 and Rs 26,000.
Baroda, Mumbai, Kolkata, Bengaluru and Chennai rates also moved up by Rs 1,000 each to Rs 23,000, Rs 28,000, Rs 31,000, Rs 61,000 and Rs 64,000.
