JAMMU, Apr 9: A deputation of Private Nursing Home Association (PNHA), Jammu province, led by its president Dr Navinder Raizade today met Health and Medical Education Minister, Bali Bhagat and apprised him of their problems and demands.
The deputation sought the guidance of the Health Minister for betterment and improvement of the private health sector so that they can serve the needy and poor people of the State without any hinderance.
A number of issues regarding the private health sector were discussed with the Minister. The deputation members demanded the Minister to extend the tenure of registration of private nursing homes from present three years to five years.
Taking up the matter of service tax imposed on the patients in the State, the deputation said that the same should be withdrawn immediately, as no other state of the Country imposes such tax on the patients.
Besides, the deputation members impressed upon the Minister to provide the private nursing homes all those incentives, which are applicable to the industries in the State. It was also demanded that the private nursing homes be provided electricity on non-commercial rates as they are serving the people of the State without any greed.
The minister gave a patient hearing to the deputation and assured that their demands will be considered for proper redressal.
Dr Swarn Singh general secretary of the association, Dr RK Suri, vice-president and Dr Gaganpreet, treasurer, were part of the deputation.
