978 cases disposed-off in National Lok Adalats

JAMMU, Apr 9: National Lok Adalats for labour and family matters were held across the State at High Court, District and Tehsil level under the patronage of Justice N Paul Vasanthakumar, Chief Justice, High Court of J&K and Patron-in-Chief J&K State Legal Services Authority and under the guidance of Justice Mohammad Yaqoob Mir, Judge, High Court of J&K and Executive Chairman, J&K State Legal Services Authority.
A total of 978 cases were disposed off in the National Lok Adalats and an amount of Rs 57 lakh was realized as compound money.
National Lok Adalat was organized in District Court Complex, Jammu under the chairmanship of Sanjay Gupta, Chairman, District Legal Service Authority, Principal, District and Sessions Judge, Jammu.
The bench number 1 comprising of Additional Sessions Judge (TADA/POTA), Jammu, Kishore Kumar, Additional District Judge (Matrimonial Cases), Jammu, Subash Chander Gupta took up 39 cases and settled 7 cases.
The bench number 2 which comprised of Sub-Judge SS Bali and Additonal Munsiff Jammu Rekha Kapoor took up 87 cases and settled 31 labour cases, 2 family matters and realized an amount of Rs 62,200.
Similarly, the bench number 3 comprising of Assistant Labour Commissioner, Jammu, RK Vaid took up 4 cases and settled 1 case besides realized an amount of Rs 21,2587.
National Lok Adalat was held at District Court Complex under the chairmanship of Inder Singh, Chairman, District Legal Services Authority. A bench was constituted which was headed by Mehmood Ahmed Choudhary, Sub Judge/CJM Rajouri and assisted by Sarfaraz Nawaz, District Mobile Magistrate (T) Rajouri and Assistant Labour Commissioner Rajouri. 75 cases pertaining to labour and family matter were settled and an amount of Rs 344200 was also settled.
National Lok Adalat was held at Udhampur. Four benches were constituted. The first bench comprised of Sonia Gupta, Additional District and Sessions Judge, Udhampur and Prem Sager, District Judicial Mobile Magistrate Traffic (Munsiff) Udhampur. The second bench comprised of Reno Dogra, Sub Judge Ramnagar and Mohammad Arif Tak, Naib Tehsildar. The third bench comprised of Smati Sharma and the fourth bench comprised of Touseef Ahmed Magray, Munsiff, JMIC Majalta and Mohan Lal Gupta, Advocate. 36 cases were settled and an amount of Rs 4800 was also settled.
National Lok Adalat in the Court Complex at Nowshera under the chairmanship of Sandeep Kour, Chairman, Tehsil Legal Services Committee, Nowshera and assisted by Advocate Rattan Singh. Three cases were taken up out of which 2 cases were settled.
National Lok Adalat was held in District Court Complex, Ramban. A bench was constituted which was headed by Kalpana Revo, Chairman, District Legal Services Authority and assisted by Yahana Firdous, CJM Ramban and Imran Wani, Additional Special Mobile Magistrate Ramban. 25 labour cases and 9 cases of family matters were disposed-off amicably and an amount of Rs 800 was also realized in these cases.
National Lok Adalat was held in the District Court Complex Samba. Two benches were constituted on the occasion. The first bench was headed by ML Manhas, Chairman, District Legal Services Authority and assisted by Ritesh K Dubey, Chairman, Tehsil Legal Services Committee, Advocate SK Khanmotra, Advocates Mohinder Singh and Sandeep Sharma, Retainer Lawyers. 39 cases were taken up out of which 3 family matter cases were settled.
The second bench was headed by Swati Gupta, Additional Special Mobile Magistrate Samba and assisted by Madhu Sharma, Additional Munsiff Samba, Rishu Mahajan and Deepak Sharma, Retainer Lawyers. 77 cases were taken up out of which 22 labour cases were settled and Rs 18000 was realized as fine.
