Forum celebrates ‘Annual Lecturers Day’

JAMMU, Apr 9: All J&K Plus 2 Lecturers’ Forum today celebrated  `Annual Lecturers’ Day’  with great fervour and enthusiasm all over the State with its main function at IIIM (RRL) Auditorium, Canal Road, Jammu  where about 1000 delegates and a galaxy of intellectuals participated from all the three regions of the State.
The historic assemblage in the house pledged to re-double its efforts to bring the desirable improvement in the field of Education.  The speakers from different parts of the State expressed their views on the importance of the Day and discussed at length the functioning of the Department in School Education with special focus on the role of Plus 2 Cadre in the development of education in the State.
The House specially focused on the confronting issues which included;  benefit of running grade pattern, regularization of all incharge incumbents including Joint Directors, CEOs, Principals and Lecturers, roll back of order of sanctioning of creation of posts of Joint Directors in favour of KAS officers in School Education Department, revival of 40 percent college quota, non vacational status to the principals, reorganization of the School Education Department, removal of pay anomaly of Lecturers in Physical Education and implementation of transfer policy in true letter and spirit.
The forum also flayed the Government for disparity in advertisement for recruitment of new lecturers and Medicos (vide notification No. 9 PSC(DR-P) of 2016 dated 19-03-2016 and notification No. 8 of the same date) wherein newly recruited lecturers will have to serve in Zone-III on one hand and will be paid only Rs  14,700 per month for initial five years whereas no such condition exists in case of recruitment of Medical Officers in Health Department.
Kiranjeet Kour, State president of the Forum,  expressed her determination that the Forum will further intensify its efforts to achieve the goal of “Academic Excellence” and also strive hard for benefit of Running Grade to remove the stagnation from the Cadre.
Those,  who addressed  on the occasion,  included Chander Parkash Ganga (Minister of Industries and Commerce),  Shamsher Singh Manhas (MP), Priya Sethi (Minister of State for Education and Culture), Mamta Singh, Smita Sethi (Director School Education Jammu), Sham Lal Sharma (Former Minister for PHE, Irrigation and FC), Harshdev Singh (former Education Minister), Balwant Singh Mankotia (Ex. MLA) and Daljeet Singh Chib (Vice Chairman of Kissan Advisory Board) besides a large number of officers of the department.
