SHIMLA : Many parts of Himachal Pradesh, along with north western Himalayan states like Jammu and Kashmir, Uttarakhand and Punjab were rocked this afternoon by a strong tremor, an officer from the India Meteorological Department confirmed. The quake, that hit the region at 1558 hrs, measured 6.8 on the Richter Scale, having Latitude of 36.4 degrees North and Longitude of 71.2 degrees East. Epicenter of the tremor, having focal depth of 190 km, was recorded at Hindukush region in Afghanistan. So far, no report of loss of life and property has been reported from any part of Himachal Pradesh, the officer added. (AGENCIES)
