‘Hindi Diwas’ celebrated across State

JAMMU, Sept 14: Symposium, poem recitation and speeches marked the celebration of “Hindi Diwas” across the State.
“Hindi Pakhwada” commenced today at Government College for Women, Gandhi Nagar. On the inaugural ceremony, Prof Chanchal Dogra, was the chief guest, while, Dr Kiran Bakshi, Principal of the College, was the guest of honour. “Doha Gayan” was organised to hallmark the event and it was judged by HoD Philosophy, Prof Aruna Choudhary, Prof Seema Sharma and Prof Ravi from Music and Hindi Departments respectively. The first prize was bagged by Saras Bharti of BA Part II, while second and third positions were claimed by Samriti of BA Part II and Monika Devi of BA Part III respectively. The consolation prize was given to Kamaldeep Kaur of BA Part II.
“Hindi Diwas” was celebrated by the Zoology Department of GGM Science College, in which students participated actively. On the occasion, Principal of the College, Dr Satinder Singh, motivated the students to take active part in such co-curricular activities. Prof Neeru Dhalla and Prof Alpana Vohra, Head, Department of Zoology, threw light on the importance of Hindi language.
Hindi Divas was celebrated in Government Degree College, Billawar. On the occasion, symposium was held on “Hindi as Rajbhasha and its impact in the integration of country”. Ankita of BA Part III stood Ist whereas Sushma Kumari of BA Part III and Aarti Devi of Part II secured 2nd and 3rd positions respectively. Principal Dr BL Gupta, also spoke and threw light on the impact made by Hindi film and music Industry and Hindi media in popularizing Hindi worldwide. The programme was organized under the supervision of Prof Rohit Gupta of Hindi Department.
Government Degree College, Mendhar, celebrated “Hindi Diwas by organazing various programmes like poster making, poem recitation and a symposium competition in Hindi, in which students highlighted the importance of the Hindi language. Prof SH Shah, Principal of the College presided over the programme.
To make students aware of the importance of “Hindi Diwas”, a Hindi Saptah was celebrated at Gandhi Memorial College of Education, Raipur Bantalab. Speaking on the valedictory function, AK Raina, general secretary, HESK, highlighted the importance of the Hindi language.
“Hindi Saptah” organised by GD Goenka Public School, to highlight the importance of the language, concluded today. Programmes like ‘Hasya Kavi Sammelan’, ‘Doha Pratiyogita’, etc, were organised to generate interest of the students towards the Hindi language. On the valedictory function, Principal of the school, Poonam Jha, stressed on the importance of the use of Hindi by the students.
BSF School celebrated “Hindi Diwas” with zeal and enthusiasm. Various activities such as speeches, songs, talks, poem recitation, etc were organised. A ‘Kavi Ghoshti’ was organised, where students recited poems of the famous Hindi poets. Principal, Dr SS Khokhar, highlighted the importance of the Hindi language.
Lawrence Public School celebrated “Hindi Diwas”. During the week long celebration, students under the banner of Hindi Sahitya Samithi (Hindi club) conducted various competitions. The programme was inaugurated by Principal S Joshi. While speaking, S Joshi threw light on the importance of Hindi language.
Mother’s Pride and Joy Pre- School students celebrated “Hindi Diwas Saptha”. The children were acquainted with the hindi language’s importance. On the concluding day, the programme commenced with a Hindi prayer, which captured the children’s fluency and command on the language in a variety of forms. The toddlers also recited a delightful ‘Bal Geet’ which was most endearing, followed by Hindi poem recitation competition. Children dressed in colorful costumes using lovely props enthralled and excelled in the poem recitation.
IIIM, Jammu organised quiz and debate competitions to celebrate “Hindi Diwas”. In Hindi Quiz competition for IIIM staff’s children class 5th to 8th, Annvay Singh, class 5th of RRL School, Sonic Gupta of class 5th of KC International School and Ajeet Kumar, class 8th of RRL School, bagged first, second and third positions respectively. In Hindi Debate competition for Inter Department of TOLIC Jammu, Rashmi Sharma of IIIM Jammu bagged first prize, while second prize was shared by Neha Dhar of IIIM Jammu and Ashok Dixit, Manager, Shri Gandhi Sevashram. The third position was secured by Rajni Sharma of IIIM, Jammu. Virendra Kumar, Asstt Commandant, CRPF and Kailash Chandra Mathpal, Inspector, Hindi, BSF Jammu, bagged consolation prizes.
To celebrate “Hindi Diwas”, a speech competition on “Indian Culture Versus Western Culture” was organised at the Office of the Principal Accountant General and Accountant General, in which employees participated enthusiastically. The function was presided over by AK Jain, Deputy Accountant General (A&E) while, Anju Thapa, Senior Asstt Prof, PG Hindi, DDE and Dr Shiv Dev Singh Manhas, HoD, both from Jammu University were the judges. In the competition, Veena Sharma, AAO, Ravi Sharma, AAO and Raja Ji Saproo, AAO, bagged first, second and third positions respectively.
J&K Academy of Art, Culture and Languages organized a “Kavi Samelan” at Government Women Degree College, Udhampur, to celebrate “Hindi diwas”. Parkash Premi, Shiv Nirmohi, Prof Shiv Dev Manhas and Dr Bharat Bhushan Sharma, Principal of the college, shared the presidium. Neeru Sharma, Editor, Hindi Sheeraza, J&K Academy of Art, Culture and Languages presented the welcome address. On the occasion, Shivanjali Sharma, Aruna Jamwal, Parveen, Sonamika Gandhi, Amita Mehta, Vichitra Singh Beragi, Surjeet Hosh, Sanjay Singh, Sudesh Sultan Puri, Jagdeep Dubey, Daya Ram Daya, Prof Shiv Nirmohi, Prof Shiv Dev Singh Manhas, Dr Sudhir Mahajan, Prof Vipan Chander, KC Sharma and Balraj Bakshi, recited their poems.
Powergrid, nrts-II organised Hindi Pakhwada at its Regional Headquarter, Jammu. The programme was inaugurated by KR Suri, General Manager (O&M), NRTS-II. Sunil Aggarwal, General Manager (PSTCL), SD Joshi, Additional General Manager (C&M), AK Srivastava, Additional General Manager (ES), Stanley Mathews, Chief Manager (HR), senior officials and employees were present. While speaking, KR Suri said that progress made in use of Hindi in different departments has shown positive results and now employees are keen to correspond in Hindi.
A function was organized by Radio Kashmir Srinagar in connection with Hindi Diwas. Head of the Station, Vivek Singh inaugurated the function. A brief poetic symposium was held in which Nasreen Ali, Nida Nawaz, OP Sharma Vidhyarthi and Dr Nizam-ud-Din participated. Dr TN Ganjoo, well known academician and historian who presided over the function presented the keynote address. Famed singer Muneer Ahmad Mir presented Kalaam-e-Amir Khusroo and Kabir Vani. Station Head of Radio Kashmir announced that the new issue of Hindi magazine SRIJAN will be published by the station within the next three months.
Employees of New India Assurance Company Limited celebrated Hindi Diwas at their Shalamar Divisional office. While speaking, Divisional Manager, Dr Daleep Pandita, emphasized moral and ethical importance of the Hindi language. Various competitive programmes among the employees, will be organised to boost fortnight long Hindi activities.
