Two-day course for police officers concludes at SKPA

UDHAMPUR, Apr 12: Organized by Sher-i-Kashmir Police Academy (SKPA), the two-day course on “Concept of Leadership and Management in Police” for the rank of Inspector to Senior Superintendent of Police, concluded today.
The course was designed under the guidance of Director Sher-i-Kashmir Police Academy, Udhampur, Rajesh Kumar, IGP and coordinated by Ravinder Kumar Rao, DDP, Assistant Director (Indoor).
The main objective behind the course was to make all the participant officers well aware about the modes of leadership-concept, traits and styles, behaviour and attitude of police with special reference to public dealing, role of motivation in conflict situations of police, good leadership-a toll for better, effective policing, management-an effective tool for policing, leadership and leadership science in police, leadership theories and their relevance in police,    as the police force is in the forefront in dealing with the issues.
During the course, eminent speakers including Anil Sharma, District Informative Officer, Udhampur, Mahesh Koul and Dr Jaya Bhasin, Professors from Jammu University and Dr Saurabh Srivastava, Assistant Professor, SMVDU, delivered lectures and shared their valuable experiences on various topics assigned to them.
The objective of the course is to enlighten the souls of the officers and to refresh and impart better ways and techniques among officers for the development of leadership qualities/ motivation power, to equip officers with sense of professionalism and make them capable to respond effectively to the changing social situation.
The valedictory moments of course were graced by Prof Ashok Aima from Central University, Jammu in the presence of Shiv Kumar Sharma, AD (Admn) and Randheer Singh, AD (O) SKPA Udhampur.
