JAMMU, Apr 12: The Jammu University SC/ST Employees Association today celebrated the 126th birthday of Bharat Ratna Baba Saheb Dr B.R. Ambedkar with great pride and pleasure.
The programme was started by raising the slogan ‘Bharat Mata Ki Jai’.
Speaking on the occasion, the Association president R L Kaith said Ambedkar was a great national leader of the twentieth century. “He was an intellectual scholar and statesman, who contributed greatly in the nation building,” Mr Kaith added.
On the occasion, the Association presented ‘Dr B.R. Ambedkar Award 2016’ to Advocate Ashok Bassotra for his constant service rendered to promote and advance the education of public in the teachings of Dr B.R. Ambedkar.
Prominent among those, who attendees the function, included Advocate Madan Lal, Er H R Phonsa, Surjeet Singh Heer, S K Shavotra, Mulkh Raj Dalotra, Sukhdev Chand Bhagar, Kunj Lal Bhagat, Ramesh Dalotra, Vinay Attri, Dharam Paul, Kewal Krishan Dalotra, Des Raj and others.
