Quake jolts eastern India

NEW DELHI: A major earthquake measuring 6.8 on the Richter scale today hit areas around the Indo-Myanmar border and its tremors were felt in the northeast, West Bengal, Bihar and other parts of the country.

According to National Centre of Seismology (NCS), the earthquake occurred at 7:25 PM at the depth of 134 km.

There were no immediate reports of damage to property and life. (AGENCIES)
