Vichar Goshti organized to pay homage to ‘Sarthi’

JAMMU, Apr 16: A Vichar Goshti was organised by Nami Dogri Sanstha to pay homage to Late Gurudev OP Sharma “Sarthi”.
The programme was presided by SS Anand Lehar, in which large number of literary personalities and the admirers of Gurudev ‘Sarthi’ participated.
SK Jain was the chief guest and Subash Chander Baru was the guest of honour. Savita Sharma, daughter of Gurudev OP Sharma Sarthi, Captain Lalit Sharma, Prof Anupama Sharma, Patron, Youth Wing, NDS, SK Jain, Renowned Yogacharya, Sham Talib, President Adbi Kunj, Aaresh Om Dalmotra, Satya Paul Gadwalia, MS Kamra, Shambu Ram Pyasa and many others were present on the occasion.
While paying rich tributes, SS Anand Lehar in his presidential address said the ‘Sarthi’ has been remembered as multifaceted personality who had deep perceptions of various dimensions of art and Dogri language.
SK Jain said Gurudev OP Sharma ‘Sarthi’ was a prolific writer who wrote in Urdu, Hindi, Punjabi and Dogri. He was an excellent poet, dramatist, short story writer, painter, sculptor, classical singer, tabla player and music composer.
Subash Chander Baru while speaking on the occasion said that ‘Sarthi’ was a great thinker and literary critic.
Captain Lalit Sharma said that great personalities like ‘Sarthi’ are rarely born when some rare permutations and combinations take place in the nature. He described ‘Sarthi’ as a strong pillar of Dogri literary movement.
Sham Talib, President, Adbi Kunj said that he is the disciple of Gurudev Sarthi Sahib. He said that his literary stature, whatsoever is today is just because of ‘Sarthi’.
Advocate Dogra Harish Kaila, President, NDS while paying tributes said that ‘Sarthi’ has given new dimensions to the Dogri language by doing new literary experiments and has enriched the Dogri literature, art and culture.
The programme was compeered by Yash Pal ‘Yash’, while Ashok Sharma presented vote of thanks.
