JAMMU, Apr 16: A total number of 223 Degrees, 42 Merit Certificates and three Gold Medal will be awarded during the fifth Convocation of Sher-e-Kashmir University of Agriculture Science and Technology (SKUAST) Jammu on April 18.
In the presence of Chief Minister Mehbooba Mufti, Vice Chairman of NITI Aayog, Government of India, Dr Arvind Panagariya and State Agriculture Minister G N Lone, the Governor N N Vohra will present 12 Ph D Degrees, 112 Post Graduation Degrees and 99 Under Graduation Degrees to the pass-out of year 2015-16.
Besides the Degrees, three Gold Medals and 47 Merit Certificates will also be awarded to the toppers and those who got eight or above Overall Grade Points.
The Degrees will be awarded in the faculties of Agriculture & Allied Sciences and Veterinary Sciences.
These include 10 PhD Degrees in Agriculture & Allied Sciences, 2 PhD Degrees in Veterinary Sciences, 67 MSc Degrees in Agriculture & Allied Sciences, 38 Degrees in Master of Veterinary Sciences, seven Degrees in M Sc Basic Science, 54 Degrees in B Sc (Hons) Agriculture & BSc (Hons) Biotechnology and 45 Degrees in B V Sc &AH.
The Convocation, being held at General Zorawar Singh Auditorium in Jammu University, will start at 9.55 a m with the entry of Academic Procession at 10.22 a m. After presenting of Degrees, Medals, Certificates of Merits and addresses by the Pro-Chancellor (Chief Minister), Chancellor (Governor) and the chief guest (NITI Aayog Vice-Chairman), the Convocation will be declared at 12.43 pm.
