RAMBAN, Apr 16: Batote police arrested a trucker along with 10 kilograms poppy straw.
As per police sources, a team from Batote police station led by SHO Inspector Sameer Jeelani laid a naka near Baggu Nallah and intercepted a Punjab bound truck bearing registration number JK02AP-5733.
During checking, police seized 10 kilograms poppy straw from the vehicle and arrested the driver, who has been identified as Ashiq Ali, son of Abdul Rashid of Parsana, District Reasi.
A case under FIR Number 25/16 under Section 8/15 Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act has been registered at police station Batote and investigation started.
