Tracking Files

Sir,
This refers to the editorial ‘Tracking Files’ (DE, April 11, 2016). The Chief Minister of our State deserves to be appreciated for issuing clear instructions to the bureaucrats to put in place ‘File Tracking System’ (FTS) which is the brainchild of National Informatics Centre (NIS) and which is reported to be working efficiently in some other states. When this system can function successfully in other states, there is no reason why it should not be successful in our state. Her concern that the ordinary people are not put to inconvenience and inordinate delay while following their cases in the Civil Secretariat is appreciable and speaks volume about her commitment to the principle of good governance which her late father and Ex-Chief Minister of our State,Mufti Mohd.Sayeed always strived for. Often, it is complained that files get stuck up in various offices due to  reasons best known to the concerned officials and people have to move from pillar to post to find out the status of various files.
The File Tracking System, if implemented in letter and spirit, will go a long way in bringing about efficiency in various offices and minimise the inconvenience of people as FTS will help in tracking the status of  particular file and objections,if any, which could be removed so as to enable the file to move further for its disposal. She has taken bold and people friendly decisions such as sanctioning of additional pension to old aged and family pensioners, announcement of Mufti Mohammad Sayeed Food Entitlement Scheme(MMSFES) to supplement NFSA etc.It is hoped that more such decisions will follow and usher in an era of peace and prosperity in our State.
Yours etc…..
