‘Vikas Ki Nayi Udaan’ concludes

UDHAMPUR, Apr 18: Jammu Unit of Directorate of Advertising and Visual Publicity (DAVP), Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, Government of India today concluded its week long multimedia exhibition ‘Vikas Ki Nayi Udaan’ at Multipurpose Hall, Degree College, here.
The exhibition highlighted the achievements and initiatives of the Government of India. The exhibition was part of a country wide campaign (excluding election-bound states) being organized by the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting to inform the public about the programs and policies of the Government.
Cultural programme by the troupes of Song and Drama Division, Kavi Sammelan, Symposium, poster making and solo singing contest on the theme “Beti Bachao, Beti Padhao” were the main attraction of this exhibition.
Students participated in large numbers in the programs and winners were awarded. People in large numbers both from urban and rural areas visited the exhibition.
The major themes covered were Farmer’s Welfare, Skill India, Make in India, Start up India, Financial Inclusion, Women Empowerment, Good Governance, etc. Information regarding the schemes like Swachh Bharat Abhiyan, Beti Bachao-Beti Padhao, Jan Dhan Yojana, Shrameva Jayate and other social security programmes like Atal Pension Yojna, Pradhan Mantri Bima Suraksha, etc was provided through a series of photographs and documentaries.
The Jammu unit of DAVP organizes such exhibitions in schools, panchayats /community halls of remote areas. Exhibitions are also organized in major fairs of the region like ones held in Chamliyal, Swankha, Jhiri, Shiv Khori and Sudh Mahadev. Apart from this DAVP participates in Public Information Campaigns (PICs) organized by Press Information Bureau.
The exhibition in Udhampur was organized with the support of the district and college administration along with other media units of the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting.
