National-level Endoscopic Surgeons’ event from Apr 21

SRINAGAR, Apr 18: Department of General and Invasive Surgery at Sher-e-Kashmir Institute of Medical Sciences (SKIMS) and Kidney and Urological Research Centre (KURC) is hosting 8th National Congress of Indian Association of Gastrointestinal Endoscopic Surgeons ‘IAGES 2016’ from April 21 to 23 at SKICC here.
According to a SKIMS statement, the Organising Secretary Dr Fazal Q Parry informed that the mega event will be participated by masters of the craft from all over the globe including Dr Tehmton Udwadia, Dr Barry Salky, Dr MichealEdye, Dr Pradeep Chowbey, Dr Ravindranath, Dr B K Rao, Dr Kudeep Singh and others.
“The event is aimed at displaying the state of art technology to the young and budding surgeons all over the country and comprise of a live operating Workshop, key note lectures, orations, panel discussions, symposia and many award winning paper and poster presentations,” he according to the statement said.
He said that the inaugural ceremony will be hosted at 6.00 PM on April 21 in the main auditorium of the SKICC. Director SKIMS Dr Showkat Ali Zargar is chief patron of the event and Chairman and Head Department of General and Minimal Invasive Surgery SKIMS Professor Khursheed Alam Wani is the patron while Professor Muneer Khan is the organizing Chairman of the event, the statement added.
