Justice Ramalingam takes oath

JAMMU, Apr 18: Chief Justice, High Court of Jammu and Kashmir, Justice N Paul Vasanthakumar today administered oath to Justice Ramalingam Sudhakar as judge of the High Court of Jammu and Kashmir.
Earlier, Registrar General of the High Court of Jammu and Kashmir, M K Hanjura, read out the notification issued by Union Ministry of Law and Justice as also the authorization by the Governor of Jammu and Kashmir, appointing Chief Justice to administer the oath of office to Justice Ramalingam Sudhakar.
The oath taking ceremony was attended by Minister for Law and Justice, Abdul Haq Khan, Justice Mohammad Yaqoob Mir,  Justice Dhiraj  Singh Thakur, Justice Tashi Rabstan, Justice Bansi Lal Bhat,  Justice Janak Raj Kotwal, Judges of the Madras High Court, Chairman Central Administrative Tribunal, Former Judges of the High  Court  of Jammu and Kashmir, Advocate  General, Senior Advocates  of Madras High Court, Additional Advocate General of Madras High Court,  Chief Secretary B R Sharma, Director  General  of Police K Rajendra,  Commissioner /Secretary Law,  President, Members of the High Court Bar Association, Jammu,  Principal District Judge, Jammu, Judicial Officers and other dignitaries.
Justice Ramalingam Sudhakar was born on February 14, 1959 and hails from Panapakkam village, Vellore district, Tamil Nadu.
Justice Ramalingam Sudhakar did his early schooling from Don Bosco Matriculation School, Egmore, Chennai and completed his schooling from St. Mary’s Higher Secondary School, Madurai. He graduated from Loyola College, Chennai. Justice Ramalingam Sudhakar was conferred a Degree in Law from Madras Law College.
Justice Ramalingam Sudhakar enrolled as an Advocate and started practice as an associate of the Legal Luminary and Senior Advocate Habibullah Badsha, former Advocate General of Tamil Nadu and Public Prosecutor of Madras High Court.
Justice Ramalingam Sudhakar, practised in all branches of law and specialized in the field of Customs, Central Excise and Sales Tax Law. Besides, Madras High Court, he also practiced, appeared in cases before the High Court of Andhra Pradesh, Karnataka High Court and Kerala High Court. He regularly appeared in matters before the Supreme Court of India as well.
Justice Ramalingam Sudhakar was elevated to the Bench as an Additional Judge of the High Court of Madras on 10th December 2005 and as a Permanent Judge on 20th April 2007.
