JAMMU, Apr 19: The activ-ists of Pradesh Youth Congress (PYC)  today held strong protest demonstration against the Modi-led NDA  Government at the Centre for its alleged failure on all fronts.
The protest programme was organized especially on the day when Prime Minister, Narendra Modi was in Jammu to address various functions at Katra. A large number of Youth Congress activists  assembled near  Press Club Jammu under the leadership of Pradesh Youth Congress (PYC) president Pranav Shagotra and started protest  demonstration. They were carrying flags and banners amidst shouting slogans against  Modi-led Government  at the Centre for its anti-people policies and failures. They also burnt the effigy of Narendra Modi. The protesting Youth Congress activists also tried to take out protest rally but the strong contingent of police and para-military force did not allow them move ahead.
Addressing the activists, Pranav Shagotra lambasted the Union Government for befooling the people by re-launching the welfare schemes, which were earlier launched by the Congress led  UPA regime. He said that BJP- led NDA regime has done nothing for the  last two years  except  lip services and false promises.
Reminding the workers about promises made by the BJP leaders, especially Prime Minister, Narendra Modi during election campaign in 2014 Lok Sabha elections, Mr Shagotra said that Prime Minister had promised to bring back black money but two years have passed but nothing has happened.  “Issue of black money was raised only to hoodwink the innocent people”, he  said adding that  BJP Government is hobnobbing with those who have huge black-money.
Pointing towards firing on the International Border (IB) in Samba sector on the eve of  Prime Minister’s visit to Jammu, PYC president said that promises made with border residents remained only on papers. He said that except  promises  nothing has been done to ensure security and safety of border inhabitants. He reminded the BJP leadership about promise of providing alternative land to border residents at safer places.
Dubbing BJP led Government as anti-poor, PYC president said that during the last two years prices of essential commodities are touching sky and those at the helm of the affairs are protecting interests of hoarders and black-marketers.
Prominent among those participated in the protest march included,  Paramjeet Singh, Pankaj Basotra (PYC gen sec),  Rajan Sharma, Sandeep Singh, Haranjeet Singh, Hoshiar Singh Chib, Anoop  Gupta, Ricky Dalotra , Rocky Choudary, Shabir Kohli, Abhinav Sharma, Sumit Sharma, Lucky Singh Manjeet Singh, Jatinder Chib, Ravi Kant, Kunal Kohli and others.
