JAMMU, Apr 19: A joint meeting of Jagti Tenement Committee and Pradesh Congress Committee Migrant Cell) was held here today under the chairmanship of Shadi Lal Pandita, President, Jagti Tenement Committee and Co-Convenor Pradesh Congress Committee (Migrant cell).
During the meeting various demands were discussed which included implementation of PM’s employment package, conducting of recruitment drive in police, enhancement of cash assistance, grant of one time compensation to migrants, permanent rehabilitation of migrants etc.
While addressing Pandita said that in case Government fails to meet the genuine demands of Migrants agitation will be launched in Jagti .
Ghulam Qadir Bhat Convener of PCC Migrant Cell was present in the meeting. Others who participated included Raj Kumar Tickoo, Deepak Razdan, Sunil Koul, R.K Raina, Makhan Lal Raina, Rattan Lal Bhat, Kashi Nath Bhat, Raj Kumar Bhat, Vijay Pandita, S.L Kar, Raj Nath Dhar.
Meanwhile, PCC Migrant Cell chief H L Pandita, vice chairman M N Pandita, convener Ghulam Qadir and other leaders said that it was due to the efforts of Party chief, G A Mir, as well as senior leaders, Raman Bhalla, Sham Lal Sharma, Mula Ram, Rigzin Jora and Abdul Majid Wani who warned agitation in case the ration to migrants was not released on old scale, the Government was forced to revoke the decision.
