JAMMU, Apr 20: Prize distribution function for the awardees of Shri Ram Bagh Swroop Competition on Ram Navmi 2016, was held here today by the Jammu Heritage Society at K L Saigal Hall.
On the occasion, Priya Sethi, the Minister for Tourism, Culture, Technical Education, Education, Horticulture, Floriculture and Parks, was the chief guest while Veenakshi Kaul, Deputy Director Tourism Jammu, was the guest of honour.
Selection Committee, comprising of Balwant Thakur, Vijay Atri, Vijay Anand, Ravinder Singh Jamwal, Suman Gupta and Ajesh Rohmetra judged first, second and third winners among schools and first three prizes among Best costumed students.
The first prize was won by Environment Educational Institute, second by Little Buds and Third by Ishwar Public School on the basis of their performance. The first, second and third awards of Best Dressed Student, were bagged by Aaryan Talwar, Swastik Sharma and Kunal Kumar, respectively , whereas special prize was bagged by Vivek Jammwal, who played the role of Hanuman ji.
The prizes were distributed by the chief guest and guest of honour in presence of sponsors and organizers of the event. The participants were given certificates of appreciation and participation along with stationary gift hamper.
Priya Sethi appreciated the role of the society in organizing Shree Bal Swroop Competition which depicted the great epic ‘Ramayana’. She assured of all help from her ministry to promote and showcase culture and religious heritage of Jammu.
The proceeding were conducting by general secretary Bhuvneshwar Gandotra.
Baldev Khullar, president of the society, also spoke on the occasion.
Bhuvneshwar Gandotra had organized the programme with the support of a team comprising of Om Prakash, K L Bhalla, Ajesh Rohmetra, Ashwini Arora, Sanjeev Kalra, Ashwini Gupta, Gyan Sharma, Sanjay Gupta, Sunny Dua, Manjeet Katoch, J M Malhotra, Vinod Malhotra and Sardar Balwinder Singh.
