SAMBHAL : Union Minister of State for Parliamentary Affairs and Minority Affairs Mukhtar Abbas Naqvi has said that the country was moving forward towards a strong “green revolution” with the commitment to empowerment of farmers, labourers and the poor under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
Mr Naqvi said that after the Independence, it is for the first time that the country’s Prime Minister has been moving forward with giving priority to prosperity of villages,farmers and the poor.
The Union minister, while addressing a Gram Sabha meeting at Buknala village in the district under “Gramoday Se Bharat Uday” campaign here yesterday, said, “Gramoday Se Bharat Uday” campaign is a part of this commitment to strong green revolution and good-governance”. The campaign was launched by the Prime Minister on Babasaheb Ambedkar’s birth anniversary on April 14 and will conclude on “Panchayti Raj Diwas” on April 24.
Mr Naqvi said ,” the previous Central Government used to call India as an agriculture-based country but it was engaged in dishonesty on the issue of farmers’ welfare. NDA Government has been working with complete honesty so that farmers, who feed the nation, do not remain empty stomach.
The country’s agriculture sector, which was ruined during the previous Central Government, has now returned on right track due to NDA Government’s schemes meant for welfare of villages and farmers. This has resulted into economic empowerment of farmers of the country”.
He said, “farmer is the pride of India; agriculture is the life of India besides Gramoday Se Bharat Uday is a campaign of the Modi Government for dignity and prosperity of the farmer”. Mr Naqvi said that purpose of this campaign is to ensure farmers’ prosperity with social harmony in villages, strengthening Panchayat system and to bring the balanced and over-all development of villages at ground level.
He also informed the people about schemes aimed at socio-economic empowerment of villages and farmers which include Pradhanmantri Gram Sadak Yojana, MGNREGA, Pradhanmantri Gramin Awas Yojna, Pradhanmatri Suraksha Bima Yojna, Pradhanmantri Jiwan Jyoti Bima Yojna, Atal Pension Yojna, Pradhanmantri Jan Dhan Yojna, Sukanya Samriddhi Yojna, Beti Bachao-Beti Padhaon Yojna, Deen Dayal Gram Jyoti Yojna, Pradhanmantri Fasal Bima Yojna and Pradhanmatri Krishi Sinchayi Yojna.
He said that these schemes will help in achieving the target to double farmers’ income in five years. With an aim to provide benefit of these schemes directly to farmers and the poor, the Prime Minister has asked the Ministers and MPs to reach out to the villages and farmers through “Sampark-Sanwad”.
Mr Naqvi said that the Modi Government’s commitment is that the Government should come out of power corridors and work among the villagers and farmers. (AGENCIES)
