Our first woman CM of State, Mehbooba Mufti has expressed serious concern over the use of agricultural land for non-agricultural purpose. We are already running short of agricultural land and if no stringent laws are implemented, the situation will further deteriorate. In order to gain and earn quickly, people never hesitate to sell their fertile and valuable agricultural land to big business men and commercial firms. They are killing the golden egg laying hen in order to collect all the eggs in one day. People should be properly informed about this menace. But unfortunately there is no such provision from govt. side to make people aware. Agricultural land should be preserved for agricultural activities only. Hope new Govt. under Mehbooba Mufti will take better steps to curb this menace.
